If only one feeling is taken away when people view my work, my hope is for the common thread to be that love is always at the root of every session. Personally, for me there’s no greater gift than being a mother. I’m constantly in awe of mothers raising their children. The strength it takes, the resilience it takes and the unwavering love. For those reasons and about a billion more, I’m always over-the-moon shout from the mountain tops excited when I have the opportunity to work with a fellow mother capturing her essence in motherhood photography. Especially when she’s on board with a romantic maternity boudoir session softened with minimalism details such as this one.
For the indoor portrait session at Studio One I had the pleasure of documenting some of the initial motherhood moments with Taylor. This intimate Denver maternity photoshoot is a raw, classy, and tasteful celebration of the journey into motherhood and all that comes with it. This is Taylor’s first pregnancy and she was glowing. I highlighted her growing baby-bump, the source of life. I also intentionally incorporated a plethora of movement to symbolize the idea of how quickly time flies once you become a mother. From the moment you’re pregnant it’s beautiful chaos. You’re preparing for new life and a change of pace. Nothing is really still anymore, but in the best way. I felt empowered to create a styled maternity photoshoot that highlights the beauty of women and our evolving bodies encompassing the power, sexuality and fragility of motherhood. I’m continuously admiring and studying the work of like-minded creatives. Two industry peers who I draw inspiration from are artists like Elizabeth Messina and KT Merry. If you’re in the Denver, CO area and are looking for a maternity photoshoot, family portraits, a mini session, or anything in between please don’t hesitate to reach out. With Mother’s Day just around the corner, this is the perfect way to celebrate you. I’d be honored to capture your moments in love, growing love, and mothering love. A huge thank you to the amazing team who helped produce this classic, romantic boudoir including make-up artist Sameera and hair artist Laura Gavina with gowns by Gossamer.
